I often use acrylics as a primary medium. This allows me to work quickly, and build up the paint layers to get the effect I want. Sometimes I paint in situ and sometimes in the studio, using photographs and sketches of an area that I have visited. I don't aim to reproduce a photographic representation of the scene, but capture certain textures and colours that I find interesting and emphasise these.
